Little Explorers
Little Explorers is a ‘ewe-nique’ class that gives children the
opportunity to explore, in-depth, a fun and educational theme each month.

“Fit-n-Fun”
Little Explorers will be learning physical fitness, diet and
exercise. What is a healthy snack and how does healthy food affect our bodies?
Exercise has never been so fun! Work-out clothes required.

October “All
Creatures, Great and Small”
We will learn a little about bugs and insects, reptiles and
amphibians and take a look at the dinosaurs. We’ll try our hand at making some
of these animals or bugs, and make some bug eyed glasses. We’ll learn about
their habitats and life cycles, too.

November “Native
Americans”
We will learn about the history of three tribes of Native
Americans: the Pueblo, the Iroquois and the Plains Indians. We will try our
hand at pottery, weaving and beadwork.

December “Gods
Little Helpers”
What a timely topic for the Christmas season. Children will
learn about the importance of giving by making gifts for other people. Our
classes will go on an outing to a senior home, sharing songs, cards and treats
with the residents.

January “Music
and Movement”
We will be a movin’ and a groovin’ while we make instruments,
listen to new sounds and dance the day away.

February
“Rainforest”
Little Explorers will make decorations to turn our classroom
into a rainforest. We will explore the animals, plants and climate of the
region.

March “Reading
Really Rocks”
We will explore the literature of three favorite children’s
authors, noticing their different styles and techniques. We’ll do some writing
and illustrating of our own to share.

April “Baking
Bazaar”
The children will bake many delicious treats, package them and
price them for sale at our Carnival.

May “Third Rock
from the Sun”
Little Explorers will head out on an expedition to explore
Earth’s land, sea and air. We will learn about treasurers hidden under ground,
the ocean floor and our planet’s climate.

Class
size
Limit is 24 and enrollment is first-come, first-served
basis. Children do not have to be enrolled in Little Lambs of Peace
Preschool to sign up for Little Explorers!
Teacher/Student Ratio
Each class is staffed with a teacher and teacher’s aide.
Extended
Care
Extended Care is available for children enrolled in Little
Explorers. Many children who attend preschool on Wednesday and enroll in Little
Explorers stay through using the Extended Care program. The children bring a
lunch and eat between classes. Please see the Extended Care page for more
information.
