Parents
You are part of the team at Little Lambs of Peace!
Research has shown that parental participation is one of the
most important factors in a child’s academic success. Our teachers go to great
lengths to involve you in your child’s preschool experience and provide many
opportunities to volunteer.
Communication
Conferences and Assessments
Three year-olds receive an assessment after their 9th week of
school. Progress reports are sent home the first week of January with
conferences the following week.
Four year-olds receive progress reports the first week of
November with optional conferences offered the same week. Progress reports are
sent home again the first week of March with conferences the same week.
Kindergarten readiness will be discussed at this conference.
Newsletters
Teachers record the day’s highlights on whiteboards located
outside each classroom.
Three year-olds receive monthly newsletters in their mailbox.
Four year-olds receive monthly newsletters in their mailbox.
Orientation Night
We have an Orientation Night for all families that takes place
one week before the first day of school. Children come with their parents to
meet the teachers, do a Scavenger Hunt to familiarize themselves with the
building and return necessary forms and paperwork.
Handbook
Each family receives a copy of the school’s handbook. This
includes all school policies, calendars and a copy of the curriculum.
Volunteer Opportunities
Classroom Volunteers
We love having parent volunteers! Each classroom has a monthly
calendar where parents can sign-up to be a classroom helper and provide a snack.
Field Trips
Teachers will notify parents of upcoming field trips and the
need for chaperones. At this time, all children are transported on school buses
equipped with Child Safety Alarms.
Special Projects
From time to time, teachers will need extra hands to cut, color
or glue. These projects are a great way for working parents to help out! The
materials can be taken home and returned when finished.
Wish List
Our teachers make use of many hands-on activities! This means
that our Wish Lists are always full of things that families can donate to make
our programs full of fun! Wishes range from empty paper towel tubes to
batteries to tissue paper. Wish Lists can be found on the wall outside each
classroom.
Expectations for Parents
Jesus’ Love
Children are a blessing from God! They are a challenge,
privilege and huge responsibility. You are your child’s first and most
important teacher. We have them at school for less than 10 hours a week. That
leaves you with the other 158 hours! We pray for all of our students and
families that Jesus’ love would grow and flourish in your home.
Sign-In/Out Procedure
Little Lambs of Peace follows the state guidelines for signing
children in and out of our facility. Clipboards are located outside each room.
Parents or authorized caregivers sign each child in and out of class daily.
Your cooperation helps us to ensure the safety of all of our children!
Sick Child Guidelines
We ask parents to keep their child’s best interest and those of
their classmates in mind when an illness occurs!
If a child is showing any of the following symptoms they should
be kept at home: fever, severe cough, severe cold, severe itch or sore throat.
If a child has a communicable disease they should be kept at
home until they are no longer contagious and are fully recovered.
If a child becomes ill at school, the parent or authorized
caregiver will be contacted to come and take the child home to recover.
Tuition
Tuition is due the first day of each month. Checks should be
made payable to LLOP (Little Lambs of Peace). Automated tuition is available.
Other payments can be placed in the locked Tuition Box located just outside the
classrooms.
